初めまして、英国政府観光庁のサニーでございます。2012年から日本に住んでいます。去年から日本の大学院で勉強しています。そして今年の八月から、英国政府観光庁でインターンシップを体験しています。今日は私が英国の中で訪れてみたいところをご紹介します！
My name is Sunny and I am an intern at VisitBritain Japan. I have been living in Japan since 2012. Last year I entered XX University to study Japanese and pursue an MA. Since August I have been helping out as an intern here at VisitBritain Japan. I’d like to share with you a little bit about the place in the UK I’d like to visit most!

英国政府観光庁で働いていますが、カナダで生まれました。実は、英国へ行ったことがありません。でも英国に旅行することに興味がないというわけではありません。高校生の時から、ロンドンやウェールズに行きたいと思っていましたが、機会がありませんでした。しかし、インターンシップを始めてから、エディンバラへ旅行したいと思うようになりました。
Although I am working for VisitBritain, I was born in Canada. Actually I have never been to the UK, but that certainly doesn’t mean I don’t have interest in visiting. When I was a high school student I was very interested in visiting London and Wales but, unfortunately never had the chance to go. However, since I began my internship, I’ve become interested in taking a trip to Edinburgh.

まず、スコットランドの首都、エディンバラはエディンバラ城やエディンバラ旧市街などの色々な美しい古い建物があるし、海の近くにあります。昔から、こちらの街は蒸留所が多く、美味しそうビールやウイスキーなどが生産されています。
As the capital city of Scotland and located close to the sea, Edinburgh has many beautiful old building such as Edinburgh Castle and those located in the Old Town district. For hundreds of years, the city has been known for its many distilleries which are still producing delicious beer and whiskey today.
特に私はアトールブローゼという飲み物を飲んでみたいです。こういう スコットランド の甘い飲み物は オートミール 、蜂蜜、ウイスキーと クリームで作られます。美味しいそうじゃない？
I’d really like to try the sweet Scottish drink called atoll brose which is made from oatmeal, honey, whiskey and cream. Doesn’t it sound delicious?

そして、毎年８月に、エディンバラは世界一番有名なエディンバラ・フリンジ・フェスティバルという祭りがおこなわれます。こちらの祭りは色々な上演や音楽や芸術などを楽しめます。
Every year during the month of August, Edinburgh also hosts the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival where many kinds of performances, music, and art can be enjoyed. It is the largest festival of its kind in the world!

世界中が注目する、エディンバラ・ミリタリー・タトゥー
残念だけど、この頃勉強や仕事がいっぱいあるから、エディンバラになかなか旅行に行けません。でも来年、フィンエアーがエディンバラまでの航空券を売り始めるから、大学卒業後したら行こうと思います！
Unfortunately, because I’ve been busy with school and work these days, I still haven’t the time to visit. However, starting next year Finnair will be offering direct flights from Tokyo to Edinburgh, so perhaps I’ll be taking a trip there after graduation!
