イギリスで一番好きな場所は？
I would probably say St.Ives in Cornwall because it feels untainted by commercialism, like a genuine throwback to Old England. The scenary and landscape down that way is just simply breathtaking

そうですね、コーンウォール州にあるセント・アイヴスかな。
清らかで商業化されていない街だから好きですよ。古き良きイングランドがそのまま残されているような雰囲気なんです。道中の風景や自然はとても美しいですよ。

Q.7 What are the best music club nights or gig venues in Britain in 2013 (feel free to plug Stone Foundation nights)!
今年も残り少ないですが、イギリス国内でお勧めのライブ情報を教えてください（もちろんストーン・ファンデーションの宣伝でも構いませんよ！）
We are currently on tour around the UK so we are lucky to find these little underground clubs all over the UK from Café a go-go in Cardiff to the legendary 6T’s nights down at the 100 Club in London.
今僕たちは国内ツアーのまっ最中なんです。カーディフのカフェ・ア・ゴーゴーや6T’s nightsで有名なロンドンの100 Clubなどのアンダーグラウンドなクラブで演奏できてラッキーです。
Q.8 In 2012 we celebrated 50 years of the release of the Beatles’ Love Me Do’. This year will be 50 years of the Rolling Stones following that we have the The Who, The Small Faces (the list goes on and on) right up to the present day. What do you think has kept British music at the forefront for over half a century?
2012年はビートルズがLove Me Doをリリースしてから５０年記念の年でした。今年はザ・ローリング・ストーンズ結成５０周年記念。続きザ・フー、スモール・フェイセス……その他たくさんのバンドが現在も活躍しています。ブリティッシュ・ミュージックが半世紀以上にもわたり音楽界をリードし続けている秘訣は何だと思いますか？
Britain has always bred obsessives, mavericks and characters that have thrived on creating little scenes. Youth culture has always played a massive part in our society whether it be the Mod thing, Punk, Heavy Metal, The Ska/ Skinhead revival…this Country may look to America or other shores for it’s influences but there is always a uniquely British twist to our scenes, take the Northern Soul scene for example, a whole movement based on records that were discarded by American record Labels but cherished and sought after over in the UK.
Clothes have always been important here too, the best music always had a sub culture that was obsessed with clothes running in tandem with it too. It’s kind of unique to the UK.
イギリスには音楽マニアとか一風変わった人たち、それから個性的な人たちを育てる環境がいつもあって、秘かなムーヴメントを生み出してきました。若者カルチャーが大きな役割を果たしてきたのは間違いないです。モッズ、パンク、ヘヴィメタル、スカやスキンヘッドの復活……アメリカやその他の国々の音楽を意識しつつもブリティッシュ独特のひねりがきいているんです。

Q.9 What are the current projects you are working and which countries would you like to tour/visit?
今後の活動予定とツアーで行ってみたい国を教えてください。
Stone Foundation have a new album out in early 2014 called “To find the Spirit” and we will be touring extensively to promote that release throughout 2014, of course we would absolutely Love to come to Japan and experience that wonderful culture too, we sincerely hope this can become a reality sometime soon, we feel given the opportunity a Japanese audience would understand, appreciate and embrace our music.
ストーン・ファンデーションは2014年初めに“To find the Spirit” というニューアルバムをリリースします。プロモのために一年中ツアーをする予定です。もちろん日本にはすごく行ってみたいし素晴らしい文化に触れたいな。いつか来日が実現することを心から願っています。演奏できるチャンスがあったら、日本のみんなはきっと僕たちの音楽を理解して好きになってくれると思います。
Q.10 What makes Britain GREAT?
イギリスがグレートである理由は何だと思いますか？
I think our radar is always open, we are willing to embrace different cultures, whilst Britain is a fairly eccentric but defined place to live I feel we are constantly evolving and our culture is becoming more and more eclectic in it’s tastes culturally and that can only be a good thing.
イギリス人の許容範囲がいつも広いことかな。異国の文化を積極的に受け入れています。イギリスはわりと特殊で固執した国であるけれど僕はこの国の文化はいつも変化し続けています。文化のテイストはどんどん広がっていて、それはすごくいいことだと僕は思います。
インタビューにとても丁寧に答えてくれた、Stone Foundation のみなさんでした♪
